Freedom and Peace

Got the January issue of my anthropologie catalog in the mail about a month ago... I can't get over how much I love this picture on the cover. Besides the fact that I really like the adorable cropped pullover and white skinnies she's wearing, I love how she has this look of freedom and peace. This picture brings to my mind...

Romans 8:1-2 

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit who gives life, has set you free from the law of sin and death."

There is so much freedom found in the truth of Jesus Christ. There is so much peace in knowing Him and choosing to follow Him. Realizing that there is nothing we can do to earn our way to heaven...but it's only by His grace through our faith that we can be free.

Happy Birthday A

My hunky hubby turns 26 today and I am so thankful to be married to the man of my dreams. 

My love for him continues to grow as each year goes by and I am looking forward to spending many more birthdays together for the rest of our lives.

Lead your Heart

It’s interesting how the world tells us to “follow your heart” but yet the word of God says that “the heart is more deceitful than all else.” (Jeremiah 17:9) I’d like to take the view that instead of following my heart, I should choose to lead it.

I’m a dreamer and feeler and even though my feelings are real they are not always necessarily true.  So today I choose to lead my heart to what I know is true. “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life…” (John 14:6)  It’s Him. He is truth. So today I choose to lead my heart to follow Him. 

The Simple Things

The simple things in life are often the most beautiful. The hustle and bustle of the holidays are over, the Christmas tree ornaments and lights are packed away. It’s back to work and back to the simple things. After the joy of spending time with family in Texas and friends in KC for New Years, I feel refreshed and ready for a new year! I have a renewed realization of how the simple things in life add to the fullness of life. Thankful for a simply beautiful weekend.

 We sang a simple but powerful song at church today. 

"I want my heart to burn within me.

I want to love You like You love me.

Twenty Twelve

This weekend we were so blessed to have our dear friends Rebecca, Brittany, Larry and Micah come visit us in KC! We hold tight in our hearts a year spent as roommates and neighbors in Waco, TX. The bonding experience we shared has kept us close even 4 years later. Here is how we welcomed Twenty Twelve!
